The Rapides Parish Fair will be held October 12-16.  Instructions, entry forms and tags for entering items in the Special School Division of the fair can be obtained from the Rapides Parish Extension Office, 300 Grady Britt Drive in Alexandria. The phone number is 318-768-3968.

The rules and regulations for the Special School Division are as follows.

1. All classes of this division are open for competition to those students enrolled in St. Mary's Day School, Pincrest State School, Louisiana Special Education Center, Pecan Grove Training Center and special education classes.
   
2. Only 2011 products may be exhibited in all classes.
   
3. Each exhibitor may enter only one article in each premium number.
   
4. Exhibit numbers, tags and additional information will be available at the 4-H office by September 1, 2011.
   
5. All worthy exhibits that do not receive a premium will receive a ribbon.
   
6. Exhibits are to be entered on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, form 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. All exhibits will be released on Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
   
7. All items are to be picked up at the Rapides Parish Fair between the hours of 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2011. Articles not picked up at that time must be picked up by 9 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011. Any articles not claimed by that time will be discarded.
