2012 Livestock Show Information: Any 4-H'er that will be in 4th-12th grade for the upcoming year will be eligible to participate in the Rapides Parish Fair and the State Fair of Louisiana. The Parish Fair will take place October 9-14, 2012.

The Youth Livestock Shows at the Rapides Parish Fair are some of the best in the state. Don’t miss your opportunity to join the Ag-Citing times. Having a project animal is an excellent way to learn about farming, agriculture, finances, responsibility and showmanship. Raising an animal teaches children animal husbandry, finances, responsibility and the life cycle.
The 4-H & FFA livestock program is the culmination of a long project year for many 4-H members. It is an educational project that begins with the selection of an animal, care of the animals until the date of the livestock shows.
